Nik Kopelev is Director, R&D IT Vendor Relations at GlaxoSmithKline (GSK). In this role he leads the company-wide information acquisition function and manages the R&D IT software portfolio. Nik's group is responsible for working with almost 300 publishers and software vendors. In addition to license development and negotiations he is actively involved in identifying new information products to be licensed at GSK to cover emerging business needs, as well as in joint development initiatives with major information publishers.

Prior to joining SmithKline Beecham, Nik held various positions at ISI (Thomson Scientific), which spanned from indexing of chemical information to market, business and new product development. Before then, he taught Inorganic Chemistry at several universities in the US and Russia.

Nik holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the Moscow State University and an M.S. in Information Systems from Drexel University.
