George Beckerman has years of experience in the global information industries and in information-intensive government agencies. George’s industry career focuses exclusively on firms that produce technology-enhanced content (business, financial, legal, health, academic, and governmental-centric content) as well as on companies that develop technologies that enhance content. He launched his career with such clients as the Dun & Bradstreet Corporation, McGraw-Hill Companies, R.R. Donnelley & Sons, and the BDM Corporation, advising on acquisitions, strategic alliances and enterprise growth. Since then he’s lead almost 200 strategy consulting and investment banking engagement for small, large and global companies in the information industries. He’s also held executive positions in the Washington Post Company's Legislate subsidiary and Thomson Financial's legal research business. And George is also an entrepreneur, having co-founded MarketResearch.com and two government-content start-ups. Earlier in his career, George worked at the US Department of Commerce where he worked on intra- and intergovernmental relations, business lending, business advisory and counter-terrorism programs. He launched the Department’s initiative to improve its sections of the US Government Manual and worked to improve distribution of US census data. Previously, he was a National Defense Education Fellow at New York University's Graduate School of Public Administration, a Research Analyst working on issues about aligning NYC government revenues and spending, and a Ford Foundation-sponsored intern working on economic growth, noise abatement and defense readiness / counter terrorism at the Federal Aviation Administration.
