Martin White is managing director of Intranet Focus, Ltd., based in Horsham, U.K. An information scientist by profession, White consults on intranet strategy, technology and governance issues and on the specification and selection of content management and search software. White has been involved in the information retreival business for over 30 years. He is the author of Making Search Work (2007) and co-author with Stephen Arnold of Successful Enterprise Search Management (2009), and The Intranet Governance Handbook (2010) He is the author of the Eureka column in EContent, in which he covers a wide range of search topics. He is also reviews editor and a columnist for the Intranets newsletter. He has been visiting professor in the Department of Information Studies at the University of Sheffield since 2002.
