Nikolai (Nik) Kopelev is Manager, Vendor Relations within R&D IT at GlaxoSmithKline (GSK). In this role he manages the relationships between R&D IT and over 200 information vendors. Nik’s responsibilities include license development and negotiations for IM and other information units at GSK world-wide. He is actively involved in identifying new information products to be licensed at GSK to cover emerging business needs, as well as in joint development initiatives with major information publishers.

 

Prior to joining SmithKline Beecham, Nik held various positions at ISI (ThomsonReuters Scientific), which spanned from indexing of chemical information to market, business and new product development.   Before then, he taught Inorganic Chemistry at several universities in the US and Russia.

 

Nik holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the Moscow State University and an M.S. in Information Systems from Drexel University.
